| | During our 6 and half years here, there are certain things we just hadn't gotten to see or do yet. For our anniversary weekend in Paris, we wanted to remedy some of the touristy things we hadn't yet done. So for day 2, we aimed our sights on Versailles! For this entry I will show you some of the images of the chateau that struck me. The next update will be from the gardens. Here we are, in front of the magnificent chateau.
 We were amazed at the luxury and pomp. The word that kept coming into my head was 'opulence'. Here are a few examples...

 Louis the 14th was known as the Sun King. Apparently he was serious about the moniker...check out his throne and its 'headboard'...
 
The amount of marble in this place is, frankly over the top!
